02 — Services / How a protection job is built

Paint protection is a system, not a single product. Four stages decide how a job behaves on your car: preparation, product, installation, maintenance. Each stage is documented before the vehicle enters a bay, and its limits are written down with it.

Film thickness, coating hardness, cure hours and gloss units go on the job sheet. Gloss is read in units under a fixed LED rig. Results vary with paint condition, mileage and storage, so every quote is a range starting from a fixed figure, set after inspection.

Four stages, one job sheet

  1. 01

    Preparation

Wash, chemical decontamination, clay, then a paint depth and gloss reading. Only after that reading do we set the correction scope, so the estimate matches what the panels actually need.

  2. 02

    Product

Certified films and ceramic coatings are chosen by thickness in microns, hardness, cure hours and self-healing temperature. Datasheets stay in your file, not in a sales folder.

  3. 03

    Installation

Temperature-controlled bay, wet or dry film application depending on the panel, then coating applied in measured layers with a defined flash time between them. Edges are wrapped where the panel shape allows.

  4. 04

    Maintenance

First wash after the cure window, pH-neutral shampoo only, no abrasive polish over a coating, annual inspection to keep the record current. Ceramic coating does not prevent scratches; film lowers the risk of stone chips but is not indestructible.

Paint protection film

Scope

Clear urethane film bonded to factory paint, cut from certified film stock and wrapped around panel edges so no cut line sits in an open field of paint.

Certified film options

  • Gloss clear film, 8 mil, for factory-finished paint.
  • Satin and matte clear film matched to factory matte panels.
  • Pre-cut kits per panel when only part of the body needs cover.
  • Full-body bulk rolls installed as one sheet per panel.

Film reduces the risk of stone chips, road rash and light scuffs. It is not indestructible and will not stop every impact. Results vary with paint condition, film grade, and how the car is driven, stored and washed. Warranty coverage applies only when the annual inspection is booked and recorded.

Ceramic Coating

A liquid SiO2 layer applied over corrected paint. It changes how the surface behaves: slicker, easier to rinse, more resistant to wash chemicals. It is not armour.

What the layer does

We apply the coating in a controlled bay after paint correction. It bonds to the clear coat and raises surface tension, so water and road film release faster and rinse water carries less grit into your wash mitt. Reflection gains depth; the coating adds no colour.

Below 10 °C the cure slows and we extend the window. Do not wipe dust with a dry cloth during the first week.

Hydrophobic behaviour and its limits

Contact angle sits near 100–110°, so droplets bead and sheet off above roughly 60 km/h. Beading fades as road film, minerals and soap residue build up. A decontamination wash restores most of it.

  • Hydrophobics reduce water spotting; they do not stop mineral etching from hard water.
  • Ceramic coating does not prevent scratches, stone chips or swirl marks from poor wash technique.
  • Results vary with paint age, clear-coat thickness and prior polishing.

Chemical resistance

The cured film resists pH 3–12 wash chemicals, bird droppings and tree sap when these are removed within a day. It does not resist brake fluid, strong solvents, tar removers left to dwell, or brush washes.

Warranty limit: coating coverage runs 3 years from the invoice date and requires an annual inspection wash at our bay. It covers loss of hydrophobic performance and coating failure on sound paint. Physical damage and scratch resistance are not covered.

05 — Warranty Terms

Durations, exclusions and upkeep

Warranty terms per service, counted from the installation date.
ServiceTermCovered
Certified paint protection film 5years Yellowing, blistering and edge delamination under normal road use, with the annual bay inspection completed.
Ceramic coating, pro grade 3years Loss of hydrophobic behaviour and gloss retention. A coating does not stop stone chips or wash scratches.
Paint correction 12months Holograms or buffer trails caused by our polishing work. Fresh swirls from washing fall outside cover.
Film edges and seams 90days Lifting or peeling along wrapped edges, reviewed in the bay after a wash and dry cycle.

Not covered

  • Collision, vandalism or road debris
  • Brush washes and abrasive pads
  • Panels we did not coat or wrap
  • Track, off-road and motorsport use

Upkeep required

  • Hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo
  • Annual bay inspection to hold the term
  • Report lifted film within 14 days
  • Coating top-up every 12 months

Claims are handled in writing. Request a review through the inspection form or read the full Warranty Policy. Results vary with paint condition and daily use, and film reduces risk without making a panel indestructible.
